Uneasy Beginnings

Today I was on edge.
There was just something about today that made me uneasy.

I went where I felt safe, but could still keep a look out.

But, as usual, Mom tried to coax me outside.

I was considering it...
until I heard a skateboard go by on the road.

I ran all the way to my bedroom and hid under a chair.

I can still see down the hall from here, but I feel safe.

Mom made me come outside anyway.

She said we needed to go get the mail.
We made the usual run and stopped in the office to talk to Nice Lady.

It took me awhile, but I started to calm down.
When we got home,
I retreated back into my Ultimate Box of Rebellion.

Harness still on...

Later I wanted to play,
but Mom didn't pick up on it.

Instead, Sarcastic Monday (formerly Sarcastic Tuesday) showed up.
She and Mom left me.

I got lonely...

Mimzy will watch me eat in Mom's absence.

When Mom came home she smelled like the River Trail.

I wish I could've gone with her.

At least she was quick to let me outside!

Maybe the rest of the night will be good.

Betrayal!

Today I wanted to stay close to Mom.

Where she went, I went.
And I wanted her to go where I went.

Except, of course...I didn't want to go to the mail box.

But when she sat outside I was there.

I stayed on the patio until she stepped off.
Then I followed.
I rolled on the sidewalk!

I followed her to the tasty plant.

(I stretch and walk at the same time...I do this all the time,
but Mom is never lucky enough to catch it on camera)

Mmmm...tasty plant!
Stay close Mom!

When she went back into the house,
I went up to my Box of Ultimate Rebellion.
Still close to Mom.

Eventually one of the Monday People, (I'll call her Monday Aunt), came over.
They watched some Doctor Who, then
Monday Aunt left for a while.
Mom put all my things in weird places.
My tunnel was up on the chairs.

My Time Vortex was folded and put in the cat trap.

Then the evil vacuum cleaner came out!

That set me on edge.
How could you Mom?

Then more Monday People came over.

Sweet Monday left her sandals on the floor.
They freaked...me...out.

Mom just had to mess with me.

Total betrayal, Mom!

How could you?
After I was being so loving today?

I decided I wanted to go out into the night after that.
I was happy to let Mom put my harness on me.

Then it was outside time!

But eventually I got lonely.
I wanted Mom to sit outside with me,
but she wouldn't.
She stayed inside with the Monday People.
Daddy brought me in the house.
He's paying attention to me.

You hear that, Mom?

Play With Me!

Today Mom and Daddy left for a while in the morning.
There was no one to watch over me while I eat except Mimzy.

When they returned,
the whole family was feeling a bit lazy.
I took my usual position above the fridge.

Mom and Daddy sat outside,
so I eventually joined them.

The day was pretty nice.

But ultimately it was slightly windy so I retreated
back to my Ultimate Box of Rebellion.

As time passed I got rambunctious.
Daddy took pity on me and played for a bit.

Then Mom took over for a little bit.

Then I played by myself...

I wanted Mom and Daddy to play more.
But they were done.
I sat on the couch behind Mom.
I made my attitude clear.

Ummm...I still want to play!

I gave up and settled in the armchair.

Don't let my calm demeanor fool you.
I started attacking my toys again.

More play please!

Uneventful Day

This morning, while Mom was in the shower,
I decided to go ahead and eat without her supervision.

I started my day in my tunnel again.
I wasn't eager to go get the mail.

But Mom and I made the usual run.
Then she stood around outside.
I guess she was waiting for people.
Daddy was gone.
That usually doesn't happen on Caturday.
I just watched from afar.

No way was I going out there during the day!

But eventually Nice Boy showed up and soon afterward
Daddy came home too.
I went up into my Ultimate Box of Rebellion.

But, to my surprise, they left and didn't take me with them!
They were gone for hours!
I was so lonely!
When they got back, Mom started making dinner.
I wanted to go outside...but I didn't want to be alone!
Fortunately Mom understood and she and Nice Boy
sat outside with me for a bit.

Today was so uneventful!
But I think that was good.
Daddy decided to take a nap on the sofa after dinner.
I thought that sounded nice, so I ACTUALLY joined him!

I think this is a first...
or at most a second.
Feel privileged, Daddy.  Feel privileged.

Windows

Today was pretty good.

Instead of going to my Ultimate Box of Rebellion,
I started here, in my tunnel:

Then Mom and I went outside to get the mail,
but I quickly discovered that it was windy.

Hmmm...are you sure about this Mom?
I don't like the wind.

She carried me.
We stopped off in the office as usual.
New Lady was there...she still needs a name.

Mom let me wander around.

What's outside this window?

OK, that's just weird.
Why is there a pool of moving water outside?

When we got back home Mom started doing housework.
Then Loud Boy came over.

I took comfort in the dining room window.

But then I actually let Loud Boy pet me....sort of.
He was so happy.
He said his life would be complete if I decided to be friends with him.
I heard him say it!

I even let him play with me!
We played Falcon in the Time Vortex.
It was fun!

But eventually the rest of the Teenagers came over.
I just stared at them from the safety of the dining room window.

They started watching their program.
But Mom still gave me attention.

Of course I really wanted outside.
It's nighttime now, after all!

To my surprise, Mom let me!

It's nice and dark out here!
So peaceful!

After awhile the Teenagers all left.
I watched them leave from the window.

Now Daddy's home and I think I heard the words
'nighttime ride'!
Car windows are good to look out of at night!
