Boring Times For a Cat

Today Mom stayed home.
I wanted her to stay in the bedroom all day
while I slept.

She didn't comply.

Daddy did bring me some new boxes to play with.
I was entertained for a good 3 minutes.

We didn't get the mail until late,
so the office was closed.
Which means I didn't get to visit the Nice Ladies.

However, we did find Monday Aunt and Uncle
while we were getting the mail.
They followed us inside.
Eventually Sarcastic Monday showed up as well.
The Humans settled into their normal Monday routine.

I sat alone in the dining room.
Bored.

Once everyone started leaving,
I explained to Mom that it was the perfect time
for a nighttime walk.

She wouldn't go for it.
So I asked her to come watch me eat.

Then I continued to explain to her why
a nighttime walk was the perfect thing to do.

I'm telling you, if she doesn't take me on a walk,
I'm going to get into some trouble!

Humans, Stay Home!

Today Mom and Daddy just wouldn't stay home.
I tried to entertain myself with Chewbacca-Mouse for a bit.

But ultimately I spent most the day trying to sleep.

Whenever they were home,
(which wasn't very long at a time),
I Rebelled against their behavior...

...while also trying to keep their affection.

Finally they came home with Auntie and Uncle!

I knew this meant they were likely in for the night.
Sure enough, Mom played with me!
First, it was Yoda-Mouse on a string!

Then it was Squeaky Mouse.

Now the Humans are at the dining table
playing human games.

Uncle was nice enough to make sure a good
comfy blanket was in the remaining dining chair.

I'm just happy to have everyone in one place!

Trip to the Store

Today when Mom got me ready to
go get the mail I was suspicious.
She used my car harness.
When we stopped to visit Nice Lady in the
office, there was a new guy there.
He seemed nice.

Sure enough, however, Mom and Daddy took me to the car.

We went to the pet store and
I wandered around a bit.

I investigated the cat trees.

This one has a nice platform to sit on.

This one has a nice hiding place.

Yep, it's nice in here.

I saw some kitties that need someone to adopt them.
I think this one's name was Giovanni.

After visiting the kitties I looked at some more
cat trees.
Hmmm...

Nope, underneath the shelf is more interesting.

Then I crawled under some scratching posts.

Anything to get away from the barking dogs
I could hear in the store.

Then I went to look at the fish!

So many!

We got back in the car and drove to another store.

Mom put me in my Traveling Bag.

I didn't feel like poking my head out.
Before I knew it I heard familiar voices!

Auntie and Uncle were there!

We spent time wandering around that store with them
before finally driving home.

I'd forgotten how much I enjoy nighttime rides!

They left me home alone while they all
went out to eat.

Now they're all back home and I'm settled
on Auntie's lap.

At first, I was nervous about today,
but now I'm thinking...

this was a good day!

Anxiety

Today I was in a mood.
I know... when aren't I?

I was feeling anxious for some reason.
I thought sitting and looking out the window would help.

Wait...what's that?

Just a leaf peaking under the door.

I didn't actually want to go out,
but Mom still took me on the usual outing.

While visiting the Nice Ladies in the office
I refused to settle down.

Mom made me sit in her lap because I was being unruly.

It helped a bit.

When we got home, Mom picked me up so she could
groom me.
I growled and hissed at her.
(Sorry, Mom)

I got brushed anyway.
Then Mom left me alone in the house
while she cleaned the bathroom behind closed doors.

I began to miss her.
I guess it was her way of sending me to my room.

I was better behaved when she came out.

Then the Teenagers came over.

Believe it or not, this helped me behave more normal
for a while.
Routine is good.
Because of the holidays, my routines have been interrupted.
So having the Teenagers over helped things seem normal again.

I settled in the armchair.

Then Daddy came home and I started meowing and meowing.
I wanted Mom and Daddy to hang out in the same room.
I wandered all over the house meowing for Mom to follow me.

She got me to be quiet for a little while by
carrying me around the house.

Once in a while I would settle down on a dining chair
and Mom would come by and let me know she cared.

But I really can't stop feeling anxious.
I'm sure that will change soon, though.
At least, I hope it does.

What to Do?

Today things were a little more normal.

Mom and I went to get the mail
and then stopped off in the office to
visit the Nice Ladies.

The Maintenance Guys were there too.
(Between you and me, they still make me nervous)

A big dog showed up there too.
I growled at it.

This is my face while I was in the office today.

As soon as we walked outside
I flopped over for a good roll on the sidewalk.

Mom even let me stay outside for a bit.

I guess today was warm enough for her.
It's been a long time since Mom sat out on the patio.

There was even a nice sunset today.

While Mom was busy doing stuff around the house
I wandered restlessly.
I wanted to do something, I just didn't know what.

So I got up into my Ultimate Box of Rebellion
to try to figure it out.

I found out that I didn't feel much
like Ultimately Rebelling,
so I got down right away.

Eventually That-Guy-That-Takes-Mom-Away
on Wednesdays and his wife came over.
I'm just going to start calling them "Wednesday Guy"
and "Wednesday Girl".

I just sat around bored while the humans visited.

Now that they're gone, maybe Mom will do something
to entertain me!

Struggles With Loneliness

Today Mom's cousins came and
took Mom and Daddy away.

After a few hours, they all came back.
Mom introduced me to them.
I was too upset about being left alone
to be happy about meeting new people.

So I went back into my
Room of Ultimate escape.

After they left I displayed my opinion of Mom and Daddy
leaving me.

They ignored my protest and went out again.

When they came home this time,
I curled up on Mom's lap in an
attempt to keep her from going anywhere.

She got up anyway.

Fortunately, she was just getting something to eat.
So when she settled down again,
so did I.

Once I was convinced Mom and Daddy were
staying home,
I tried to tell them I wanted a nighttime walk.

They didn't take me,
so I stepped it up a notch and called
more attention to myself.

This too failed.
So now I'm back in Mom's lap.
