Too Much Change

Sorry everyone.
I know it's been forever and a day since I last posted.
You see, Mom's computer died.
Sure, we could've posted from her tablet,
but there were all these wonderful photos still stuck on her camera.

So, without further ado...

September.

The humans had finally finished tearing apart the office
and putting in back together.

So I figured it was safe to explore.

Everything was so different.

So I had to explore every inch.

I discovered that my chairs were gone.
So I set out to find new ones.

This one seemed to have some potential.

I also checked the couches...

...from ever angle.

These chairs were close to the window:

After a thorough exploration I settled on this one:

I REALLY settled.

I even put it through a playability test.

I found it to be most satisfactory.

Then I got bored.

I couldn't wait to get home.

When I finally got home I found it necessary to get all my
wiggles out.

Then I settled into sleep mode for the rest of the evening.

The days after that, autumn began to settle in.
So I had to settle in.

I did this by relentlessly trying to get Mom to play with me.

Sometimes it worked.

Sometimes it didn't.

I've also had to soak up sun from the window
rather than from actually being outside.

From here I can watch the world around me.

There have been days that were warm enough for
my human to consent to sitting outside.
I took advantage of these brief moments.

Once, it was even warm enough at night that the whole
family went on a nighttime adventure!

We went to my favorite park by the river.

That certainly helped with the bit of cabin
fever I was beginning to get.

Back home, the birds were storing up for winter.
So the bird bush was full of tempting activity!

Very tempting...

Mom also began to harvest the catnip she had grown all summer.
I couldn't wait for it to dry!

Unfortunately, I HAD to wait.

And wait...

...and wait.

It seemed to take for-e-ver!

FINALLY it was ready and Mom let me dig in!

Best...catnip...ever.

So now autumn is in full swing.
October is well under way.

I have decided that I don't much care for October.
My friends, Tucker and Abby have moved away.
And now...
so has my best-est friend, Felix.

Mom, Maintenance Guy 1 and Nice Lady 2 let me go into
Felix's window so I could have a moment.
I took his seat on the window sill as soon as I entered the apartment
and looked at my spot outside.

The apartment was eerily empty.
I will certainly miss him.

And now, Mom tells me that Coco, the cute Tuxie girl
that lives above Felix, is leaving too.

Every cat in my building.
Gone.

At least I have my humans.
And my forever home.

Bored with August

So here's the deal:
Daddy actually came home from his long trip,
but now he's on some really weird schedule.

When he got back, he took me shopping at the nip store,
so I got to pick out a new toy.
I chose a kicker toy.

If you don't know what that is, it's designed
for kitties to grab hold of and kick the living daylights out of it.

I was quite happy with my selection.

Other than that, my August has been fairly boring.
I give you Exhibit A:

I've tried taking my boredom out on Felix.

That got me nowhere.

So, I spent some time sitting on a rock.

I also spent some time tasting the various plants by my house.
Mom's checked all of them to see if they're safe for kitties.

Mom tried to entertain me.

She often accused me of what she calls 'lazy play' or 'fake play'.
This is 'lazy play':

'Fake play' is when I act really interested like I could
pounce on the string at any second.
I do that for about 15 minutes or until Mom gets bored
and drops the string on the ground saying something like,
"If you're not going to pounce, I'm not playing!"
Then she grumbles something about 'fake play' and walks away.

She also tried to entertain me while I was outside.

That was about the extent of my play, though.

Then, just when I thought nothing more would happen
this month and it would be safe to write the blog...
...something terrible happened.

My crush, Abba-zaba, (and her roommate, Tucker, of course), moved out!

No more cute face looking down at me.
No more sound of kitty paws running around upstairs.

*SIGH*

Well...at least Felix is still around.

Can't you just see the glee I'm expressing?

The Inconsistencies of Humans

         O.K. I admit it.
I've been slacking so much that my blog should
change its name to Month by Month with Winchester Feline.

Here's what happened:
Daddy had to go away on a work trip again.
He's been gone for-e-ver.
Mom assures me that he'll be back soon.
In the meantime he's turned into Computer Daddy.
He talks to me, but I can't smell him.
Which, in my world, means he's not there.

Monday Aunt and Uncle came over on some night that wasn't Monday.
(What's up with that, humans? Don't mess with my routine!)
We all went downtown.
Now, I've been downtown in the car, but I've never gotten out...
...until now.

I got to look into all kinds of shops.
They all seemed to be closed.
I guess the only places that were open were the types
of places that don't allow cats.
Which is fine, 'cause I wouldn't like them anyway!

At least there was a nice full moon by which to enjoy the night.

Also, I got to enjoy a bit of a nighttime car ride.
Monday Uncle doesn't drive around especially for me like Daddy does.
He just drives straight home.
Which, I guess, is fine.

In other news, the office is still changing day by day.

I liked having my chairs by the window, but Mom tells me
they're not there anymore.
Again, humans!  Stop messing with things!

This is me leaving the office:

I try to tell Mom that I don't want to go back until the crazy
humans are done upsetting my world, but she keeps taking me in there.

I suppose it's good for me to keep an eye on their progress.

Mom did manage to take me out for a nice long nighttime recon.

I was able to take the time to rub my scent all over the sidewalks
in strategic places.

Of course, while checking out the neighborhood,
it's also important to keep an eye on one's human.

Since Daddy's been away, I've taken up residence in the recliner.
I sit there when the day is too hot and I haven't fully committed to going outside.
I also sit there when the day is done.
So I'll finish this post with a brief montage of me in MY chair:

That's right.
I'm king of all I survey.
