All Day Cat Nap

Yesterday, after visiting the Nice Ladies,
Mom and I stayed in.
She went about doing her housework.
At some point, she put a blanket on the back of the couch.

Well! That had my name written all over it!

So that's where I spent the rest of my day.

The hours passed as I slept.

Eventually I woke up.

I cleaned up.

Then I got up.

I remembered I had some tasty grass.

Nom nom nom!

After a good chomp, I returned to nap mode.

Good day.

Caturday Plant Quest

Yesterday Mom went to get the mail and visit
the Nice Ladies without me.
I meowed and meowed until she came home.

Then she and Daddy began to get ready to leave the house.
So I sat in protest.
No need for an ultimate rebellion; I made my point
with my trusty ol' original Box of Rebellion.

Well, I wasn't left behind this time.

We drove to the store to buy me some more litter.
Litter?

Well, I definitely need that, but it's not my favorite
thing in the world to shop for.

I decided to make the best of things while we were there
by trying out the various cat trees.
(Which I NEVER get to bring home!)

Fortunately, I convinced Mom and Daddy to buy
me something other than litter.

I put forth a pretty sound argument for getting an
indoor tasty plant...since the one outside is
dead from the winter months.

I didn't even have to wait until we got home to eat some.

Of course, after a few more stops, I was
happy to get back to my nice dry house.
It was starting to rain after all.

After relaxing at home for a bit,
I began to notice that something was wrong.

I tried to explain this to Mom and Daddy,
but they just weren't getting it.

FINALLY Mom's light bulb flickered on.
They had forgotten to bring my tasty grass
in from the car!
Well!  Naturally Mom went out to get it right away.

I accepted her apologies.

"Nom nom...just..nom..don't let..nom..it..
happen again..nom nom nom."

Uncooperative Weather

Those night winds only got worse.
They kept me awake.
When daytime finally rolled around,
it was miserable.
Sure, the wind had died down, but the ground was
wet and the air was just...yucky.

What little time I had on the patio was spent
huddled under the chair.

After that I did nothing with my day.
By the time night fell, I was uncontrollably bored.
So I began my usual restless romp.

I was certain that, after all those hours had passed,
the weather had surely improved.
Mom was convinced of the opposite.
So all I could do was stare out the window of wishful thinking.

Truthfully, Mom was probably right.
After all, I could hear the wind picking up again.
I hate the wind.

Night Winds

My Wednesday is summed up in this one photo:

Thursday was only slightly better.
I was allowed to enjoy the patio briefly during the afternoon.

By the time nighttime came I was overwhelmed by
my desire to return to the outdoors.

I begged and begged for a recon until my
meows turned into yawns.

Mom finally relented.

Unforturnately, the night was prone to sudden
gusts of wind.
I found myself unwilling to patrol the neighborhood.
So I stayed close to home and searched for my new neighbor.

Mom kept accusing me of looking in the wrong windows.
Whatever.

Still annoyed by the wind,
I took shelter on the patio.

I remained determined to get as much
outside time as possible.
Who knows when I'll be allowed to enjoy the night again.

NIghttime...Recon?

Yesterday I felt a bit melancholy.

I spent much of my day moping in one place, then another.

Eventually Mom surprised me with the offer of a
nighttime recon.
My eyes brightened a bit when I saw the
harness in her hand.

I forced myself into an upright position and looked
out the door.

Wet.
Not raining currently, but wet just the same.
I showed no enthusiasm for leaving the patio.
So Mom exchanged my leash for the tether.

I watched as she walked toward the tasty plant.
After a long ponder, I asked to join her.
She put me back on the leash.
I, however, decided that was about it for me and
opted to return to the indoors.

So Mom took me out the other door to see
if it would suit me any better.

It didn't.

After a brief look around the corner,
I returned to the front door and waited for
Mom to open it.

Still, a part of me still longed for the outdoors.
So I asked to be let out on the patio again.

I was careful not to touch the wet grass.

Mom saw no need for the tether.
Instead she just sat and watched me.

It was positively dreadful.
Here I was outside;
Mom...completely willing to give me my recon,
but my melancholy could not be shaken.

My world view had gone grey.

Nothing, not even my beloved nighttime recon
could pull me out of it.

So I shook my damp paws, returned to the indoors,
and groomed away the phantom harness from my shoulders.

I then returned to my perch...

...which offered no more comfort than it had before I left it.

SIGH.

An End to the Madness

Mom FINALLY finished changing my world around.

She even managed to move the ONE chair which
had my location stamp of approval.
Fortunately, I approve of it's new spot as well.

My food and water are in much the same place,
just a foot closer to the wall.

After some investigation, I approved the
new desk location.  It gives me easy
access to the window.

Also, Mom put this string dangling from it,
so I can amuse myself on occasion.

It's conveniently located above my toy box.

After I completed a full investigation,
I returned to the chair.

So, after a days of things being moved and a weekend
without wifi, Monday proved to be normal.
Other Aunt and Uncle even showed up on time.

Mom took me outside to visit my new neighbor.
She even let me go right up onto his patio to say 'hi'.

Unfortunately, he gave me the cold shoulder.
After that Mom made me go back inside without
so much as a nighttime recon.

I don't care how cold she was, it's her fault she didn't
put a jacket on!

Well, at least it seems that all the human madness has finally come to an end.
Now things had better start going my way!
