Feline vs. Fish

Well, my weekend was less than exciting.
About the only thing of note I did on
Saturday was put Mimzy in the food bowl.

Sunday Auntie and Uncle came over.
I let the humans do whatever it was they were doing
while I ventured into the unoccupied kitchen.

Once there, I decided to watch my TV show:
Fish Tank.

This season is turning out to be pretty good.

It had me engrossed for quite some time.

Eventually, of course, watching was no longer enough.

I just had to get involved.

After awhile I went back into the living room
to check on the humans.

I refused to sit on any of their laps.
Instead, I sat behind Mom on the back of the recliner.

So she took some nice close-ups of me.

I didn't really feel like catering to the humans,
so I once again removed myself from their presence.

This trip to the kitchen landed me in the
Alternate Box of Rebellion.

From my lofty position I could look down on them...

...silently willing Mom to find me something
tasty to eat somewhere in that kitchen.

My Jedi mind tricks fell short.

Still, I had to try.

After all, what else is a cat supposed to do if
not make all manner of attempts to control humans?

Not a Bad Day

Yesterday Mom and I had a good
visit to the Nice Ladies' office.

We met our new human neighbor.
They say I get a new neighbor too.
A Russian Blue named Felix.
I can't wait to stare at him through the window.

After the new neighbor left the office,
I went to the couch and took in the new scents.

When Mom and I came home,
I claimed the TARDIS blanket for the
rest of the day.

After Daddy came home, he started play Skyrim.
He wanted me to sit with him, so he put the
TARDIS blanket in his lap.

Eventually this did not work in his favor.

"What do you mean I'm making it difficult
for you to play?"

Of course, sooner or later I was just
as uncomfortable as Daddy, so I got up.

Not a bad day.

Fog and Frustration

Yesterday the warm weather left
and the fog rolled in.

I stayed indoors all day.

Eventually the Teenagers came over.
I haven't seen them in months!
As such, I was unused to their company
and retreated to my Alternate Box of Rebellion.

After they left I thought maybe Mom would
take me for a nighttime recon.
So I began to ask for one.

She proved unwilling to go outside.
I therefore resorted to making repeated
 passes by the door.

This proved disappointingly ineffective.

I tried to be patient with Mom,
but after 45 minutes of meowful insistance,
I gave up in frustration.

I can only hope a new day will bring
a new attitude...from both of us.

Purrfect End to a Lonely Day

Yesterday things were back to normal.
That is, Tornado Girl came over, then she
and Mom left me.
It'd been awhile since Mom left me on a Wednesday.
I was beginning to think that was normal.
I was wrong.

So, while I was alone in the house and feeling
pretty negleted, I turned to Mimz for comfort.

By the time Daddy brought Mom home I was
pretty starved for attention.
I meowed and meowed until Mom finally picked me up.

I was so content at that moment that I actually
gave in to purring...a rare thing for me.

Mom held me for a good long time.
Just as long as I wanted and no more.
Purrfect, Mom.  Purrfect.

After Mom ate dinner, (which took
forever if you ask me), she actually kept
a promise she gave me earlier in the day.

She gave me exactly what I've been missing
most of winter!

You guessed it.
Nighttime recon!

I can't tell you how happy I was walking
next to Mom; taking in the night air with
all it's scents.

I even discovered a little more about the
mystery of people bringing trees into their houses.

It seems they leave them outside when their done.

Well, that just makes even less sense now.
Humans!

When we went back inside, Mom took
my harness off of me and gave me a good
scratch where it had been.

So, even though the day got off to a rough and
very lonely start, it sure did end well!

Warm Day in January

Yesterday I began my day with
a nice bowl of rabbit stew.

After that, I enjoyed the usual visit to the Nice Ladies' office.

No wolves today!
I was in a great mood.

It was so unseasonally warm that Mom wore
short sleeves and flip flops!
So I got to enjoy a bit of the sunset.

I thought, "If it's this warm, maybe the tasty plant
will have something to offer."

Well, I didn't have much luck.
Fortunately, Mom knew what to look for.
She actually managed to find a tiny bit of tastiness for me.

She even let me enjoy the patio a bit longer.

I couldn't resist crossing the grass again.

The rest of my day was fairly uneventful.
I did get to watch Daddy play Skyrim for a bit,
so that was nice.

I also got to spend a little time on Mom's lap
with the TARDIS blanket.

Still no nighttime recon, however.
Hopefully that will change soon.

Crying Wolf

My weekend was largely uneventful.

I spent some time doing this:

I also spent some time doing this:

By the time Monday rolled around I finally
got out of the house.

Much to my surprise, the snow had melted!
So I took my time crossing the grass.

At first I enjoyed visiting the Nice Ladies' office
as usual, but that changed.

When Mom put my harness back on me I suspected
something was amiss.

I was right.

Something came out of Nice Lady 1's office.
Let me tell you, I didn't like what I saw.

It came right at me.

Sure, it wasn't aggressive.
Sure, she just seemed curious.
Sure, I was safe in Mom's arms.

Sure, you might be thinking, 'what a beautiful dog'.

However, where you cry dog...

...I cry wolf!

Maybe she was part dog, but she sure was
mighty stealthy for a dog!
Wolf I tell you!

Just when I decided it was O.K. to relax,
I felt something touch my tail.
At first I thought it was Mom, (I was
sitting safely in her lap after all), but
when I turned to look...WOLF!

She had snuck up behind me!

I've never known a plain ol' dog that could do that!

Well, I had had enough!

Fortunately the wolf left.

Once I was back in my home,
I made Mom walk with me to check
all the  rooms.

Everything was as it should be.

Later, Other Aunt and Uncle came over.
Yep, a nice normal event.

After they left, Daddy played with me.

I rather enjoyed it.

After that, however, I was bored again.

I began to think about what might soothe my soul.

After watching Mom play Skyrim for a bit,
I curled up and stared her down.

I had come to a conclusion.
The only thing that would make me happy
is a good nighttime recon.

After all, one must make sure there
are no wolves lurking about.
