Pleasant Day

Yesterday I was reluctant to get out of bed.
However, Mom still took me to get the mail and
visit Nice Lady in the office.

It was pretty quiet in there, so I was quite happy.

Then some people and noises changed my mind.
I went under the couch, but I wasn't too stressed.
It was nice under there.
When it was time to go, I came out right when Mom called.

Once we were home I realized what a beautiful day it was!

Mom cleaned and rearranged the patio.
It passed my inspection.

I was more than happy to stay outside.

When Daddy came home, we all sat outside to enjoy the nice weather.

After the sun went down I was content to resume my slumber.

Yep.  It sure was a nice day!

Finally! A Nighttime Walk.

Yesterday was nice and warm!
Mom and I spent some time out on the patio.
I stayed in the shade under the chair.

I didn't even follow Mom when she invited me out to the tasty plant.

Then, Monday Aunt and Uncle showed up.
I know, it was Thursday, but they do that lately.

There was much watching of Doctor Who.
It seems that Monday Aunt has some catching up to do.
Then, after it was good and dark outside, our guests left.

I hoped and hoped that Mom would take me on a nighttime walk.
To my surprise, she did!

We went out the back door.

And walked down the sidewalk.

Mom let me go almost everywhere I wanted to go.

Then we came back in through the front door...

...walked through the house and went out the back door again.

Because that's the way I like it.

This time around I stopped at the tasty plant.

Then I sat and listened to the frogs...

...or whatever other sounds were out there.

After taking in more smells and sounds,
we went back in through the front door.

Then Mom let me stay out longer on the tether.

That is, until some strange Australian Shepherd ignored me
and walked straight into MY house!
Mom asked the dog to leave and it was polite enough to do so
without too much bother.

That's when Mom decided I needed to come
back inside for the rest of the night.

I didn't care.
I wanted to stay out for at least another hour!

Nice Day. Nice Night.

Yesterday the weather was beautiful.
I enjoyed visiting the Nice Ladies in the office,
but I didn't want to stay for very long.

I also enjoyed sitting outside on the patio.

But that didn't last very long at all.
Daddy came home and took Mom away.

When he came home, he had some new patio chairs with him.
I ignored them.

Finally he went to go get Mom.
When they came home, we all sat outside.
They put me on the tether.

It was awesome!

I stalked a beetle.

Sooner or later, though, Mom made me go inside.
Daddy also brought a new box home.
I didn't pay much attention to it until Mom turned it upside-down.

Then I had quite a bit of fun with it!

Of course, what I really wanted was a nighttime walk.
So I sat on the back of the couch and pouted.

Then I moved to the door...

...and pouted.

Mom had better take me on a nighttime walk soon!

In Need of Some Good Play

Yesterday Mom left.
So I decided to just sleep as much as possible.
When she came home, we didn't even go check the mail.
I guess she went and got it without me.

I pretty much napped all day.
Eventually I decided I would go sit out on the patio
with Mom while she visited with Computer Aunt.

That robin and pigeon taunted me some more.

There was a nice sunset.

When I went back inside, I was bored.
I ran around the house for a bit,

 but playing by
myself only entertains me for a little while.

Mom and Daddy started playing video games,
so I went up into my Ultimate Box of Rebellion.

Uncle came over eventually, so I knew Auntie would
show up eventually.
She did.
She gave me some proper attention, so I came down from my perch.

I resumed my nightly position on Mom's lap.

After Auntie and Uncle left, I decided to get my night going.
So I yawned and cleaned the sleep from my face.

When I turned around to finish cleaning,
I got distracted by a pen that hadn't been there when I fell asleep.

Once I was up, I hoped for a nighttime walk.
Mom apologized and said it wasn't going to happen tonight.

I tried to entertain myself by playing with Mimzy.

When Mom picked up the camera I stopped and meowed at her.
It was the sort of grumbling meow that tells her I don't want to play alone.
I know she understands it, but still, she failed to join me.

So I gave up and pined for that nighttime walk some more.

Gotcha Day 2014

Yesterday was my Gotcha Day!
That's right, it's been 2 years since my Mom and Daddy
rescued me and brought me home.

It started off as a beautiful day!

Mom let enjoy the great outdoors.
I was allowed to follow her over to the tasty plant.

She didn't even put my harness on me right away.
This helped me to relax.
(Besides, she knows I'm to nervous to run off during the daytime)

Of course, once I was done chomping, she put the harness on.
By then I wasn't so nervous.

I know the harness can mean we're going somewhere.

After awhile we went to check the mail and visit
the Nice Ladies in the apartment office.
We stayed there longer than I would have liked,
but when we got home Mom continued to spoil me.

She gave me some new wet food which was pretty good.
Then, after a long nap, she let me outside again.

At first I was curious as to why she didn't put my harness on me.
I thought perhaps she was going to stay close to me like when we went
to the tasty plant.
She did stay close,
but I soon realized there was another reason.

Yep, that's right. Rain.
Rain... on my Gotcha Day.

I stayed under the chair where I was sure not to get wet.

Mom knew I wouldn't be trying to wander off.
Although, that robin sure tempted me!

Before I knew it, Monday Uncle showed up.
Then Daddy, then Sarcastic Monday, and then Monday Aunt.
One by one the humans came.
I was happy to see them all.
For awhile I observed them from my high perch
within my Ultimate Box of Rebellion.

I wasn't rebelling though.
When all the humans settled in the living room,
I curled up on Mom's lap.

Then Auntie and Uncle showed up too!
Everyone was so nice to me and wished me
a happy Adoption Day.

It sure was nice to have most of my favorite humans there
on my special day.

I had good dreams.

And Mom let me nap on her lap for a long time!

Yep!  Today was pretty awesome!

When I get up, I'm going to see if Mom will play 'string' with me.

The Blog is Back!

Today is the anniversary of my adoption day,
so the blog has returned!

2 years ago Mom and Daddy took me away from my former life
of hardships and loneliness.
At first I was unsure how things would be,
but now I know.

I have a place here.
I have things that are mine.

I have guardians who love me.

Tomorrow I will tell you how my special day went.

News and Nighttime Walk

(1)

Yesterday I heard some skateboarders outside,
so I hid under the bed.

Long after they left, Mom had to convince me it was safe to come out.

She took me outside to face the day head on.

It was pretty nice.

We got the mail and visited Nice Lady 1 in the office.
At first things weren't bad.
I just waited by the door in hopes of going home.

But then I hid under the couch until Mom called me to leave.

Once we got home, I enjoyed some more time outside,
but the weather was beginning to change.

It got a bit cold and windy.
It also smelled like wildfires, but Mom
said it was controlled burns and I shouldn't worry.

I asked to visit the tasty plant, and Mom actually let me!

No harness, just Mom keeping a close eye on me!
I felt pretty free.

Still, we didn't like the air, so Mom and I retreated to the indoors.

Mom played with me for a bit.
Then, before I knew it, Wednesday Guy came and took Mom away.

Finally, Daddy brought Mom home.
She put my harness on as if to take me on a nighttime walk!

I was excited, but she took awhile getting herself ready.

Harness on.
Waiting....

Finally!
I stopped to thoroughly investigate the smells
left by those other cats I see all the time.

Then Mom let me go almost anywhere I wanted!

We had a good long walk!

Then too many people started walking their dogs,
which made me feel less safe.
Mom was attentive to my mood and took me home.

After I stared out the window for a bit,
bemoaning the fact that I was no longer outside,
I settled onto Mom's lap.

Today was pretty good.

Lately I've been feeling more and more insecure.

Mom's getting a bit worried, I guess.
There used to be a couple of things that scared me,
but I'd bounce back pretty quickly.

Recently, as you may have noticed, I've taken to hiding more frequently.

So, I have an announcement to make.
Mom's going to put the blog on hiatus so she can focus on my needs.
I hope you understand.
This, of course, make ME very happy.
I'll still be on my Google+, so check there for updates.

Don't worry, I'll be back here before you know it!
