Old Friends

Yesterday began with the usual visit to the Nice Ladies' office.

When Mom and I headed out toward home,
someone was approaching our patio.
I was surprised to see her.
She was familiar, but it had been quite awhile since
her last visit.
I was trying to remember...yes, I believe I call her Loud Girl.
Shortly after she came into our home,
more of the Teenagers showed up.
Well! This certainly hasn't happened in awhile.

Still, it was just like old times, so I was content.
Mom let me hang out on the patio while they visited.

I tried my luck with the mouse.

Still, no success.

Later that evening all I could think about was going
back outside.
The thought consumed me.

Then, much to my surprise, Mom began to get
herself ready to face the chill of the night.

I was excited, but not half as excited as I
became when I caught sight of a cat walking
through my territory!

I couldn't wait to get outside to find him!
Unfortunately, my excitement made it difficult for
Mom to put my harness on me.
It took too long and I missed that cat.

Still, I got a nice long nighttime recon!

After an extensive search for clues,
I returned to my patio.

Maybe I'll have better luck next time.

The Usual Rounds

Yesterday Mom went on the usual rounds
without me.
I guess that's because I went up into my
Alternate Box of Rebellion.
Fortunately, she came back for me.
So I was able to visit Nice Lady 1
at her office.
After greeting her, I wandered around and
made myself at home.

I tried out the various seats around the lounge.
First the one by the window.

Then I tried out the long couch.

Followed by the short couch.

I could keep a good eye on things from there.

I was, however, restless.

When it was time to go home,
I sauntered to the door to make sure it
would be open and available to me.

Then I sat out on the grass.

Eventually I wandered over to check on the mouse.

I don't think he was home, so I just munched on the tasty plant.

It was Wednesday, but Tornado Girl didn't visit.
Mom, however, did leave at the usual time.

The entire time I was home alone with Daddy,
I was quiet and well behaved.
When Mom came home I complained, ran amok,
and was a general pest.
I was very restless.
So restless that I forgot myself and attacked Mom's arm
with a bite and a few good rabbit kicks.
I instantly felt bad.
So, after what I considered to be a safe amount of time,
I ventured back to Mom's side.
Fortunately, she was forgiving.

So I curled up next to her and acted like nothing had happened.
Of course, if she had just taken me for a nighttime recon as
soon as she got home everything would have been fine.

Finding Mice

Yesterday started off a bit rough.
There was noise coming from near the pool again.
So I spent the first part of my waking hours either
hiding under the bed or just staying in my room as
far away from the noise as possible.

Eventually the noise ceased, so I was finally able
to go outside and enjoy a bit of the day.

I went over to check my favorite spot on
the sidewalk to roll around on.
Now, if you've been following this blog,
you know that first, humans ruined it by
hosing it down...twice!  Then...it rained on it.
Well, I guess that wasn't good enough for the humans.
This time they power-washed it!
As it turns out, that's what all the noise was.

Not a trace of dust.
Disappointing.

Well, at least it was a beautiful day.

Also, the tasty plant is starting to show its spring colors.

Now, some of you follow me on the G+,
so you know I've been a bit concerned over one of
my favorite toys missing for four months.
Well, Mom thought she'd take another look under the stove.
She didn't find Yoda-Mouse, (the missing toy in question),
but she did find A toy mouse.
Do you see it?

How about from this angle?

I guess I had tucked that one in pretty good.

I wasn't interested in THAT mouse, though.
So I went back to my real live mouse watching spot.

Later, Daddy came home, Computer Aunt "showed up",
and the humans did their thing.
So I commenced entertaining myself.
Of course, that's when the camera came back out.

You may notice that Mom has temporarily added
a sub-level to my box hotel.
This made it especially tall, which I like,
and a bit wobbly...which I kinda like too.
So I started playing with my tail while on the tippy top.

Yeah, I said 'tippy'.

What? A cat can't do bad puns like humans?

Yeah, it was pretty bad...I admit it.

Next thing I knew, Mom had brought out another
old toy I hadn't seen in awhile.
The red dot!

After chasing that around for a bit, I tried out my new
basement level.

Then it happened.
Daddy re-checked the spot under the recliner.
There...hidden in the darkness; masked by layers of dust,
was Yoda-Mouse!

It was under there real good.
Mom and Daddy had even completely moved the chair once.
So, after a good cleaning, Mom returned my long lost toy to me.

I even played that game with Mom where
she hands me my toy and I throw it so she
has to pick it up and hand it to me all over again...
and again...and again.

I am quite happy to have one of my favorite toys back,
but ultimately there is a real mouse calling my name.

I will find you too, Mousey.
Oh yes!  I will find you!

Mouse Obsessed

Over the weekend I went on a Caturday outing.

The wind was blowing outside and I could feel
the weather changing.
So didn't really feel like going out.
Still, Mom and Daddy buckled me in and let me
crawl into my traveling bag.

There, I hid from the day.

That is, I hid until I could tell we were close to home.

I spent time outside on the patio hoping to catch that mouse.

It was cold and wet, so Mom was kind enough to
take my hideaway off the top of my box hotel
and bring it out to me.

Let's face it.
Some days concrete can be cold on the paws.

Eventually the air got cold on the rest of me.
So I moved indoors...perch and all.

The mouse, however, did not come out.

So all I could do was find a nice human lap to nap on.

This time I chose Daddy.

I've been choosing him more often of late.

The arrival of Monday did nothing to improve the weather.

I was still intent on catching that mouse,
so at one point I braved the rain and ran across to the
nearest dry spot.

The mouse, however, remained warm and dry
hidden in my tasty plant.

All I could do is retreat to the warmth of the indoors.

The Monday People made their usual appearance.
I remained aloof.

Eventually I began to yearn for the warmth
of a human lap once again.
This time I chose Mom.

After a good long nap, I resumed my
quest for that mouse.

No luck.

I then went into my room, grabbed Mimzy,
and brought her into the living room for a bit of play.

My mind, however, was still on the mouse.
